Karl Emerson - Senior Pastor

Karl came to Word of Life after spending five years as pastor of an international church in France.  Before that, he pastored for 14 years at a church in northern Minnesota.

Whether he is speaking publicly or simply sharing a conversation over a cup of coffee, Karl is enthusiastic about the Word of God. He enjoys preaching and teaching, and strives to bring the truths of God’s Word to light for his listeners. He also has a keen interest in seeing the church grow in the area of prayer, and has a burden to pray for the nations of the world, and for our international workers who serve overseas.

His heart’s desire is to help people know God better, so that they may live more fully-committed lives as disciples of Christ, so that each one might use their gifts to the utmost and find their niche in the community of believers at Word of Life.

Karl grew up in Wisconsin and Minnesota. He likes reading, hiking, canoeing, traveling, and cheering for his favorite team, the Green Bay Packers. He and his wife Janet have two adult sons, two fabulous daughters-in-law and three adorable grandkids.
