During his ministry on earth, Jesus said that he himself was the fulfillment of the Scripture found in Isaiah 61:1, which states: The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound. If the ministry of the Lord was to proclaim good news to the poor, relief for the broken hearted, and freedom for captives, then this ought to be the ministry of His church as well. As His people, we want to reflect the love and compassion of Christ, and point the way to the freedom that is found only through a relationship with Him.
We are a place:
Where the lost can be found.
Where the hurting can find healing.
Where the broken can be restored.
Where those in bondage to sin can be set free in Jesus.
In April, 1963, a group of twelve people gathered to study the Bible together. Just one year later, in May of 1964, they had officially organized themselves as a church with the Christian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA). In this way, Word of Life Church was "born". We are thankful that God has placed us here and we pray that He will continue to use us to share the good news of His Son, and reach out in meaningful ways to the community around us. The C&MA as an organization began in the late 1800's, with the primary goal of bringing the Gospel to the nations.
